Alright, while I have been fooling around and throwing bombs everywhere like mouser with the infinite bomb code in Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time on the Project 64 emulator I have, I have gotten an idea for a fan fiction to work on. What I have been thinking is this fan fiction takes place days after the defeat of Ganondorf and Princess Zelda sending Link back to his original childhood time, and Link doesn't end up in Termina of Majora's Mask. Instead, he is, as usual, asleep in his own bed in his tree house in the Kokiri Village until early afternoon. By the time he wakes up, Link takes some stuff and heads out to continue his search for his beloved and invaluable friend namely Navi the Fairy. As he prepares to leave the forest again to head to the Temple of Time, Link runs into Fado, the blonde headed kokiri girl, and her fairy. She seems to have changed her tune about agreeing with Mido about what happened to the Great Deku Tree. Since Link is lonely and downhearted, she decides to accompany him as a friend. At first, Fado seems reluctant to leaving the forest, but after some convincing with Link telling her Saria left the forest, she decides to trust and go with him. Once out in Hyrule Field, Fado discovers Link is right about not dying outside the forest.
Everything seems okay on their journey toward Hyrule Castle Town, but then notice a mysterious figure on horseback heading toward the drawbridge to Hyrule Castle Town from somewhere else and Link feels something off about him. He decides they need to pick up the pace a bit so they can go tell Princess Zelda about the mysterious figure. When they come over the drawbridge into Hyrule Castle Town, Link and Fado see everything appears normal and busy as usually with nothing bad happening. Just to be sure, they decide to head to Hyrule Castle to see Princess Zelda and easily make it to her in the garden as the guards don't seem to be much trouble because the princess wants to see Link again. The princess tells them the reason she wanted to see Link again is there is something troubling happening in Hyrule again, but she doesn't know what. Link tells her about the mysterious figure on horseback who is likely in Hyrule Castle Town somewhere, and she thinks he might have a role in it. Zelda then closes her eyes to concentrate on what could be troubling. A glowing triangle none other than the Triforce of Wisdom appears on her right hand as she drops into a meditative state.
Suddenly, she gets a vision of armies clashing and locked in a horrible battle with places burning that look like Hyrule Castle Town, Lon Lon Range, and Kakariko Village. Zelda then sees what looks like hylian soldiers battling strange monstrous creatures she has never seen before that fight like mindless animals. Then all of a sudden, Zelda hears voices speaking in a strange tongue she is unable to understand and has never heard before, and a strange woman in black wielding some sort of mace comes into view as she decimates the strongest hylian soldier with ease. As Zelda sees this woman turning to look at her, Zelda panics and comes out of it with a scream that gets the guards' attention. When the guards' show up thinking Link and Fado did something to Zelda and prepare to seize them, Zelda interjects telling the guards to let Link and Fado go as they have nothing to do with her scream as she has seen an eerie vision. She tells the guards what she has seen and that she is going to take Link and Fado with her to the royal library to research this before telling her father, the King of Hyrule.
In the library, Zelda comes across a myth about Ura Hyrule (meaning another Hyrule like a parallel world) and something about the fabled Unicorn Fountain. She then reads something about a fabled Fairy Tree where the fairy companions for children of the forest come from. This gets Link wondering if this is where Navi went to and if he needs to search for the whereabouts of this tree if it does exist. When Zelda reads about a fabled Wind Temple, she starts wondering if there is an eighth sage that stills needs to be awaken and who that could be. Link also begins to wonder if there are hidden places that have been overlooked during his quest to stop Ganondorf and then remembers there were times he would need to play Saria's Song on the ocarina and the ocarina's magic would allow him to talk to Saria. He starts thinking about taking the Fairy Ocarina out to play Saria's Song, but is interrupted by Zelda telling him she has just found a transcript on a Dark Princess who sounds like her twin, but fear, anger, and jealousy have transformed her into an evil force. And if she can't get what she wants, she'll reduce Hyrule to a barren wasteland.
This alone makes Zelda fear she may appear or has already appeared in Hyrule somewhere and will be after the triforce pieces which reside in her, Link, and Ganondorf. Upon learning this, Links decides to get out the Fairy Ocarina and plays Saria's Song to see if she can still be reached by it's magic. She of course answers wonder what's up and Link answers telling her what is currently going on and that Fado is with him. Saria then tells Fado its good she is being Link's friend right now since she can't be there in person anymore. Link soon mentions about the fabled Wind Temple being in the same location where the Forest Temple is, and Saria tells him she is unaware of an eighth sage. Something transpiring here, I'm not sure what, makes Link say something about going back to Kokiri Village to get Mido to tell him who in Deku's name is the Sage of Wind before he personally throws him out his window. Not knowing if Link means his tree house window or Mido's window, both Fado and Saria pleas with him not to do that as that wouldn't be the right thing to do. And besides, Mido likely doesn't know anything about the Sage of Wind let alone who it is.
Zelda overhearing Link talking to his Fairy Ocarina to Saria about the Sage of Wind is reminded of a melody she just saw in something and directs Link over to it. Link comes over to take a look at the notes of it and reads it saying its called Overture of Wind. He then asks Saria if this means anything and she tells him she's never heard of it. Suddenly, Saria ends up in a whispering conversation with the spirits of the forest which Link can't tell what they are saying. Saria soon comes back to Link and tells him she has been told by the spirits of the forest that it may be linked to the room where he had encountered and defeated Phantom Ganon. This causes Link to recall hearing Ganondorf's voice after defeating Phantom Ganon saying what a worthless creation it was and will banish it to the gap between dimensions. Upon telling Saria this, she seems to realize something and goes to ask Rauru, the Sage of Light, something. Then she comes back to Link and says the forest is connected to more places than she previously thought and the room he encountered Phantom Ganon in is the room where different dimensions intersect and playing the Overture of Wind there may open a dimensional portal to this Ura Hyrule.
She then explains the Forest Temple used to be a Hylian Stronghold that was built over where a dimensional portal appeared and was to serve in a last line of defense against an inter-dimensional invasion. However, it was instead invaded during a local war that resulted in the death of many people that once inhabited it. Following the end of the war, the people of Hyrule decided to abandon it to build elsewhere such as where Hyrule Castle is now and left the stronghold to turn ruin over time and become what is now the Forest Temple. She then explains the room that was constructed around where the dimensional portal appeared is the same room where Phantom Ganon resided in. The Triforce symbols in the room suggest that it was once reserved to the royal family a long time ago for unknown reasons, but the six portraits that all depict a road through trees to an eerie sight represent the crossroads that lead to other places.
Saria then tells Link to be warned as there are many other dimensions out there, meaning there is the danger of ending up elsewhere instead of Ura Hyrule. If you make it there by stroke of luck, chances are you are in a similar room in the Wind Temple you have mentioned about. Since I have no idea about it, be prepared as it could be far worse than what you have encountered in a temple and I won't be able to aid you as I would have lost contact with you. I'm also told when you enter the dimensional portal, you will find yourself passing through the gap between dimensions on the winds of the void that will carry you to the dimension you are being sent to. After taking all of this in, Link says good bye to Saria and prepares for the journey to Ura Hyrule where he must face Dark Princess. He of course learns the Overture of Wind while Fado being curious about this wind stuff decides to take her chances and remain the companion of Link. By the time they reach the Forest Temple room where Phantom Ganon used to reside, Link plays the Overture of Wind on his Fairy Ocarina which causes a dimensional portal to open up on the floor.
Link and Fado take a deep breath and prepare to step into it and the ride through the winds of the void, but unfortunately this takes them to another place other than Ura Hyrule and they must traverse around through quite a few dimensions with the help of new friends to get to Ura Hyrule. Right now, I don't have much to go on from Ura Zelda, but if you know of anything or want to add anything, please let me know and of what you think of this.
